Sometimes, I am tired and bored of cooking food. When I feel I am too lazy to cook but I need to cook, I will choose any food that I can take time to sit.
Like this one, it is fried French beans and chicken livers.
I don’t know the name of the bean. I know that people in the West don’t eat the inner things of animals, but in Cambodia, it is simple, especially things inside poultry.
Other ingredients are:
- Minced garlic
- Fry oil
- Salt
- Sugar
- Garlic leaves
To cook this food, I clean the chicken’s livers, then I boil them until they are tender; I take them from the pot and slice them.
The same, I clean the beans, and then I boil them until they are cooked.
Afterwards, I put the pan on the cooker, put oil, and then put minced garlic until it is golden brown. Next, I put the chicken’s liver slices along with salt and sugar. When I taste it and find it is the flavor I want it to be, I will put the boiled French beans into it. I stir them, but I don’t cook for a long time because they are already cooked. But before I put it on the plate, I put garlic leaves, which I cut at a half-finger length, into the food.
If you ask me, when can I take time to sit while cooking this one? It is while I boil chicken livers and the beans. To make them soft and tender, it will take about ten minutes each.
Ten plus ten is twenty. Twenty minutes I can sit and play on my phone.
We have a similar dish here in the Philippines.
I use pieces of chopped pork, beef, or chicken.
Like yours, it is a quick and easy dish to prepare.
Let’s eat.
