Cambodian women’s sour snack

It’s a kind of snack that Cambodian women, especially young and adults, like to eat. The old women don’t because it’s sour.

Mostly they are fruits including mango, jujube, jicama and others. The popular one is mango which is made fresh and pickled slices. Though it’s pickled, we Cambodian women eat it with fried fish paste with pork – which is called ‘kapi’ in Khmer language. Besides kapi, there are several kinds of salt that we can choose. Also we can choose less spicy or heavy spicy salt.

Please be aware that this is not a healthy snack. It’s salty, strong salty; so if you are a tourist and want to taste this snack, be cautious about your throat, blood pressure and diarrhea.
